Level of Difficulty: Beginner to Advanced

  • Beginners - You will draw and paint the landscape with me during the live event.
  • Advanced Artists - You have the choice to draw and paint the geese in your composition with the help of the additional video tutorials.

Drawing: We will draw the composition together at the beginning of the workshop (with no geese).

Workspace: Have everything set up so that you are ready to draw and paint. I will paint on 8"x 10" 300 lb hot press Arches watercolor paper. You can choose to make your painting any size you want. We will be using a lot of water! Make sure to stretch your paper beforehand if you plan to paint on 140 lb.

Colors I plan to use:

  • Cadmium Lemon Yellow
  • New Gamboge
  • Yellow Ochre
  • Winsor Orange
  • Opera Rose
  • Cerulean Blue
  • Winsor Blue
  • Hooker's Green
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Sepia
  • Payne's Gray

I use Winsor & Newton watercolor paints, but you don't have too. You can substitute the colors above for similar colors in your palette. They don't have to be the same colors.

Tools & Materials:

  • Pencil & eraser
  • Small Mop brush
  • Round brushes (I plan to use size: 0, 1, 2, 6 and 10)
  • Splatter brush (optional)
  • Marine sponge (optional)
  • Spray bottle
  • Scrap Paper
  • Paper towels


HEPFUL TIPS: I teach the foundation to drawing in: The Fundamentals of Drawing course. The skills taught in this course prepare you for drawing your designs in the live workshops.
